Fear The Pure
Fear The Pure

Throttle (White Zombie x D) x HEIS 3088 (Who Knows x Double Down)

I’m excited to introduce one of our new STUD ram’s to our 2017 breeding program, “Fear the Pure”. This is one unique animal as you can see from the pictures. We’ve stayed very competitive with the Dorset’s against the White One’s and I only feel that “Fear” will continue to keep us competitive. The picture itself, shows you how massive & wide based this guy really is, along with being big racked & round ribbed. When you talk about mass, look at the four corners that “Fear” stands on, huge footed with look & shag of a show steer. “Fear” is a flush baby out of Throttle (White Zombie x HD) x HEIS 3088 (Who Knows x Double Down). Throttle has impressed, in the short two years he’s been on the farm & HEIS 3088 has been quoted as the most impressive Dorset Ewe people have ever seen. I would like to thank Jared & Heather Gutknecht at Gutknecht Club Lambs for purchasing half interest in “Fear the Pure” and believing in our program. Make sure you stop by the barn and pick up your own “Fear” lamb and you won’t have any fear at the next jackpot.

Hijacked

Throttle
1436 x Casino
Owned with: Jahner Lamb & Goat

Roy and I pick from Sedalia. I wanted to bring in an out cross and felt the 1436 sired ram with a lot of what we already have in Casino would be a great possibility to the flock. He has a huge rack and top shape to him.

Spartan (Cayman Son) x Rascal Daughter

Test – RR

This was the most interesting sheep we had seen at Star Dust and I want Thank Sherry for the opportunity to purchase this great future stud buck. Who Know's is as close to a blackface lamb as you will find. I feel he comes from the heart of Sherry's program with his Grand Sires being Cayman and Rascal, then he has 3 shots of Duke on the Great Grand Sire side. He has a nice big square hip with tons of bone and shag. At a month old he had a stand up rack that was easily seen. Who Know's is extremely clean fronted and wedges very nicely. He is a late March Ram Lamb, and we should have lambs available for March and April next year. Special
Thanks to Ted Greiner for helping me pick out this buck
.

Throttle

Throttle
White Zombie (Rally x Hines Dam) X High Definition
Test - RR

Owned with Greiner Sisters

We were excited for the opportunity to purchase a very complete Dorset stud buck this past summer from Dustin Cruit. He’s the reason we allowed Rally to leave the farm this year. White Zombie comes from the heart of my dorset flock, with being sired by Rally and the 0701 Dam has produced numerous females along with Hines. Then you cross him with one of Dustin’s best HD ewes. Look for his lambs come Jan.

Pure Pressure

Throttle
Free Bird (Fowl x Bonafide) x HEIS 927 (660 x Wasteney 318)
Test - RR

We’re excited to introduce our 2017 keeper buck Pure Pressure. As you can tell, Pure Pressure is not your typical buck you would see on our farm. Hence the name Pure Pressure with a slight twist. With the competitiveness of the Whiteface Market lambs this guy is going to be able to add more top shape and rack to our program, but continuing to keep that look and profile that we offer. Free Bird has made his own mark in the industry but the other exciting piece is the Dam side. HEIS 927 has produced numerous winning speck or dorsets and recently, she is the granddam of the 2017 Champion Whiteface Cross @ NAILE. HEIS 927 is one of only two remaining 660 ewes on the farm, followed up by 5 daughters and unknown granddaughters.

Vance

Casino (Slack 8184) x Cooper Dorsets Black 67
Test RR

Vance was the High selling Dorset Ram at the 2009 Midwest Stud Ram sale. Vance was our pick at the show for bone, muscle, and power. He has 3 shots of 0200 in his pedigree. This was the ram I was looking for to make the next step in the Club Lamb Business. We have a few lambs out of him this year. His lambs out of my “660” ewes look to be the real thing.

Big Game

Throttle
Clutch x Huntrods
Owned with: Jahner Lamb & Goat

Big Game was a unique lamb as a baby. He was slotted for Sedalia, before I started having issues with Clutch. I decided to keep him and sell half of him to Jahner Lamb & Goat. In his first lamb crop his lambs have sat at the top of the WBI shows all summer and capitalized at the State Fair as well.

Throttle
Vance x Yard Dog

With the aging of Vance and the loss of Clutch we kept back several Vance bucks this year for his replacement. This is one that rises to the top rather quickly. His dam raised the high selling ewe at Sedalia in 2014 & her ewe lamb was second in class at OYE behind the Champion Ewe. He’s extremely shallow and wide pinned.

Kill Switch

Throttle
Vance x Casino (Hines Twin Sister)

Kill Switch is a flush baby out of Hine’s Twin Sister and neither one of them need any introduction. I’ve made this mating several times and they have been highly competitive. The picture doesn’t do him justice, I’m not a photographer of photo shopper, he is as cool walking around the pen as no other. I can’t make one that has more genetic power than this one. The interesting part is, I have two more flush brothers on the farm as well.

Henchman

Henchman

Abe X Who Know’s

Test – RR

Owned with Bob Huntrods

Abe and Who Knows complimented each other very well with this offspring. Henchman carries the bone/shag and the round rib that is Who Know’s best traits. Then to keep the rack shape and power of Abe. Henchman is a late March lamb and look’s to make his mark in the late shows for 2016.

Cy/Hawk

Cayman x Duke Daughter (Spartan’s Triplet Brother)

Test QQ

Owned with Aaron Meyer

Cy/Hawk was an impulse purchase in 2014 and with only a handful of ewes bred to him, He created 6 Champions or Reserves across the Midwest State Fairs in 2015 for both Aaron & I.

This buck is one the most complete ram that I’ve raised.
He could be banded today and ready for the show ring.
We’re excited to see what he can produce.

Harry Cherry

Buckcherry x Hairy Bear/Edge
Owned with Ted Greiner

Deceased

I had a great opportunity to purchase ½ of Hairy Cherry this year.
I’ve used this buck the past two years along with his sire for speck lambs
and have had excellent offspring. This buck is extremely shallow and level hipped. It’s hard to find a buck like this to make the right specks.

Abe

660 x (Casino X Hurliman) Ewe lamb
 Test QR

Sold to Alex Ainger

When Rally was two weeks old and I knew he was the real deal. He is a March lamb and all the foot traffic could point himout in a second. Pound for pound he has as much muscle as my lead bucks. He’s the most complete buck on the farm. Rally has the widest pin set, cleanest front end, along with a great top and rack. Rally will step into 660’s place nice in 2012. I bred 10 head of some of my best sheep to him this year.

Abe

Abe
Casino X HEIS 0703 (4747 Son)
Test – QR
For Sale

Sold to Ken McMichael & Steve Kennedy.

After selling Abe as a ram lamb in 2010, we’ve decided to bring him back home and give him an opportunity on some of our ewes. One of Abe’s daughters is the Dam of the Champion WFX @ the 2013 IA State Fair and she didn’t miss in 2014 either. Abe’s twin sister has an extremely nice WFX lamb this year as well. 0703 had a ewe lamb in IN that has done well for the Crosby family making replacements in the past. This genetic line has  a proven past for me to bring him home and make some more great females.

Hines

Casino (Slack 8184) x HEIS 0701 (Huntrod x Wasteney)
 Test QR
DOB 1-15-10

SOLD TO FRANZ FARMS

I had the great opportunity to breed some ewes to Casino last year. HEIS 0701 is one of the best ewes on the farm. This ram is very shallow and clean fronted. He has the top and rack shape to continue to help build the proper Dorset Show Lamb. The ram has no shortage of bone either. He has a lot of similarities to his ½ brother “Vance”. “Hines” twin sister 0101 was shown in IL by the Harrison family and won several open shows and was Reserve AOB at IL State Fair.  There was a lot of discussion over the 0101 ewe lamb in IL. Between the combination of VANCE & HINES, I hope to continue to add power and muscle to the HD program.

Hooch

Hooch
White Lightening x Ghost Rider Daughter
Test – RR

Purchased from Daniels

I felt this guy could help give our lambs extension and length of body without limiting any power. We have always liked the White Lightening buck as we tried to purchase him as a baby.
Hooch will fit nicely with the 660 & Casino lines.

Vance

This ram originated from Cal Enfield and I purchased him
from Dr. Brent Pitts. He is very long and powerful.
He is one of the most level hipped rams I’ve seen.

Vance

 Test QR

This was the first CL Dorset I purchased.
I owned ½ interest with Ted Greiner. I used him on 12 ewes my
first year and then sold him at the 2007 Midwest Stud Ram Sale.
He was Reserve Champion Ram and purchased by Curt Glaser of KS.

DECEASED
 Test RR
Sire: Vance
Dam: (Huntrods 5234 X Wasteney) Grand dam of 2011 Champion Dorset Denver

Sucker Punch is one of the heaviest muscled lambs I’ve raised.
He has all the great qualities that his daddy has, tons of muscle along
with bone and shag. For as much power this guy cares, he still has a
excellent profile. Sucker Punch is going to work real nice on my
more extreme type ewes.
